ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to work with our current maintenance team to keep our scrap yard running at peak performance. You will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and preventive maintenance of all yard equipment — from heavy machinery and shredders to conveyor systems and cranes. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
– Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on balers, shredders, cranes, forklifts, loaders, and conveyors
– Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues and carry out timely repairs
– Conduct daily equipment inspections and maintain accurate maintenance logs
– Coordinate with equipment operators to minimize downtime and safely schedule maintenance windows
– Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies
– Ensure all work is performed in compliance with OSHA safety standards and company safety policies
QUALIFICATIONS
– 3+ years of experience in industrial or heavy equipment maintenance
– Working knowledge of hydraulic systems, pneumatics, and mechanical drives
– Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals
– Basic electrical troubleshooting skills (24V–480V systems a plus)
– Valid driver’s license; forklift certification preferred
– Physically able to lift 50 lbs., work outdoors in all weather conditions, and operate in an industrial yard environment.

Local runs / Home every night
Trailers include dump, rolloff, flatbed, lowboy, landooll, flatbeds, vans, gondolas
Run within the short haul exemption where there are no logs that need to be filled out
Hauling scrap metal
Minimum 2 years with CDL
Clean MVR
